My name is Terry Collins, I applied to C.F.F. Judging program in 2011 and became a C.F.F. approved Allbreed Judge in 2017. I have held the office of Recording Secretary for Cat Fanciers Federation. I have exhibited since 1994 and clerked in C.F.A., C.F.F. and T.I.C.A. (15 +/- yrs.) I am the former Secretary and current Treasurer of the United Maine Coon Cat Association, ( C.F.F.’s Breed Club) I have completed The Red Cross’s Pet CPR class as well as Instructor level.
I have raised and shown Persians from 1994 to 2000. Thank you to my mentor Charmayne Phillips for teaching me what to look for with my wonderful Persians. I took a leave from breeding for a while and decided I wanted to learn more about the wonderful Maine Coon Cat. I have shown our Maine Coons to National Winner, Master Grand Champion, with C.F.F., and Regional Winner, Supreme Grand Champion in T.I.C.A. Thank you to my mentor Carol Pedley for helping me to develop my eye for Maine coons. A special thank you to my Advisors in the Judging Program, Cynthia Nagle and Nancie Belser for their guidance and training as a judge in training and beyond.
I have been a member of CFF since 1993. When I first entered the Cat Fancy my husband and I bred Maine Coons. We bred them for more than 15 years and then fell in love with the Scottish Fold which we currently breed.
We were fortunate enough to have a wonderful male Scottish Fold in our program that was not only 10th best kitten in his first year but also won the title of Cat of the Year for that same show season. Dante went on to produce many kittens that all achieved high marks in the Cat Fancy. Three years after Dante’s Cat of the Year, our own breeding also obtained Cat of the Year!
I have held offices within the Cat Fancy, my first as Vice President under Stan Buchanan’s Presidency. One of our senior judges felt that I was best served as the Treasurer given my education in both Business Management and Accounting so after my Vice Presidency ended I was nominated and voted on as Treasurer. A few terms into it I was nominated and voted on to be the President of CFF. I did one term and then returned to the Treasurer position which I currently hold.
I have been lucky enough to have been voted Judge of the Year on 2 occasions, which I am honored and humbled to have achieved.
I joined the judging program in October of 2006 and achieved my All Breed Status in March of 2012 and since then have been honored and blessed to have judged in almost every province in Canada, two times in China and in many States!
This experience has been and continues to be one of the greatest joys in my life!
I’ve been involved with CFF for over 25 years. I started as a HHP exhibitor and moved on to purebred cats, became a ring clerk, and then worked on becoming a judge. I’ve been an Allbreed judge since 3/3/2012. I have owned and shown several cat breeds: Ragdolls, Exotic Shorthair, British Shorthairs, American Shorthairs and Scottish Folds. My Scottish Fold, Kat-Luha Katz Snee-Ka Red, was Best Alter for the 2004 show year.
First CFF show I attended was in the Brunswick Maine in the fall of 1993. We showed two Abyssinian
opens, one later became our first Master Grand Champion. The people were very helpful and friendly to us with this first experience, thus we became members in 1994. We went on to show many award winning Abyssinians including first place finishes in all 3 placements of Best Cat, Best Kitten, and Best Alter in 2001/2002. I became a CFF clerk in 1996 and a Master Clerk in January 2000 and the clerking coordinator in 2001. In 2001, I attended my first judging school advancing to All Breed Judges status in 2008; presently along with my husband, we have seniority of judges for CFF earning “Judge of the Year” 2012-13.I have been fortunate to judge in many different Cat Organizations including CCA, TICA, and
ACFA. In March 2019, I became the Judges Council Chairperson organizing meetings and updating
judging requirements for our CFF judges. Presently I am a Professor at Southern Maine Community
College working as the Department Chair and Program Director of a highly successful Medical Assisting program.
Joined CFF in 1993. Showed and bred Abyssinians for over 18 years to Grand Championship and National wins.
Entered judging program in 1995 and accepted March 1, 2008 as an All Breed Judge. Currently co-senior judge in CFF, Also guest judge in other associations, ACFA, CCA, and TICA.
